Non-Cabinet Minister Ajith P. Perera yesterday shed light on the removal of Carbon tax.

He told parliament that the discussions on the removal of this tax had received a positive response.   

The minister said he had discussions with relevant officials after the Budget speech and the results were positive.   

“We have space to make alternative proposals,” he said and added that he had told media after the Budget that he was disappointed that the Carbon tax had not been removed saying that it was an unfair tax.
