Veterinary Surgeons say long-term treatment is needed to save its life

Another tusker, popularly known as “Kandalame Hedakaraya,” which was lying in the Kandalama tank in a critical condition, was taken ashore with great difficulty to receive treatment.
A team of Veterinary Surgeons of the Wildlife Conservation Department office in Girithale is now treating it.
Wildlife officers said the jumbo had been seriously injured in its limbs and other parts of its body, but it is now recovering after treatment.
Veterinary Surgeons said treatment will have to be continued for a long time to save its life.
