This is usual strategy of every political party. They initially give dozens of promises but don't try to accomplish most of them. JVP came into power by abusing all previous parties and criticising their history. But most of them don't try to remind they also had once coalition with Rajpaksas and they also their party's violent history in 1971 and 1988. JVP also has one hand in economic present crisis; if they believe economic crisis was caused by perpetual mistakes by all other parties. Public must not forget how JVP killed thousands of Sri Lankan citizens to overthrow Sri Lankan democracy and establish their one party communist dictatorship. Their founder Rohana was a terrorist who brainwashed innocent Sri Lankan teenagers and Youth aganist own motherland and democratically elected government. Fortunately, Rohana was encountered by our forces and Sri Lanka was saved from becoming next North Korea.

As someone who didn't vote for this President, I regret that decision. More could always be done, but I feel what has been achieved so far is amazing and has put SL on track for sustainable long-term development.

I completely agree with you. The country they took over was bankrupt without any law and order with unbelievable level of corruption. It takes time to clean up the system, stabilize the economy and start moving. We should not forget the so called massive’Development’ done by Rajapaksa’s eventually led the country to bankruptcy. It is the corrupt Rajapaksha cronies making these accusations as they have lost their lucrative contracts, commissions and income.

Is it reasonable to expect the govt to fulfill all the promises within one year in power? Isn't it visible that the govt is on track to fulfilling those promises. At least for starters the corrupt are being brought to justice. In all reasonableness do a review in 2 1/2 years and then if needed criticize.

Where is Mahindananda now? Big scale thefts like bond scam or Easter carnage will never resolve. No more time to wast e, with illusions. If NPP cannot convince achieving economic break even point, high time to cooperate with able members in House, to avoid another uprising or else step down.

Nope. It's not reasonable. But was it reasonable of them to promise that they'll do it in 3 months?? Goes both ways. Unreasonable promises don't warrant reasonable expectations
