Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India Milinda Moragoda recently met former Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The duo first met when they were both inducted into the Forum of Young Global Leaders of the World Economic Forum several years ago.

Even by the standards of India where corruption is part of life , the Congress Party of India is corrupt to the core. This guy Rahul Gandhi is considered an imbecile by the Indian media and he has no chance ever to beat Narendra Modi. The Sri Lankan Ambassador must be an equal idiot to be a friend of this guy.

Wasantha, there's nothing wrong in being a friend of anyone. The Gospel tells us that Jesus was a friend to tax collectors and sinners. Let's put our pride aside and learn humility.

The meeting looks like an official meeting. While it was a shame about Rahul Gandhi being kicked out of their Parliament, our cunning diplomats (giving orders from Sri Lanka) should surely find a way to make use of the situation for our national benefit. While I can't imagine how, but then again, I'm not trained and experienced in how diplomats work and do things.

No one can rule forever and a potential challenger will emerge to topple any ruler in the world and this theory applies to India as well and the recently concluded Karnataka State poll is an eye opener and a case in point.
