Wildfires rampage...

More than 1,400 people were forced to flee their homes in north-west Spain yesterday as wildfires spread fast, driven by blazing temperatures and fierce winds.

Roughly 400 residents were relocated, while another 700 were evacuated from towns close to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Las Medulas, once a Roman gold-mining location famed for its intense red terrain. (Daily Mail)
