The government yesterday launched a fuel pass for tourists, enabling international visitors to procure fuel with minimal hindrance.
To ensure tourists do not feel the impact of the ongoing fuel shortage, the Ministry of Power and Energy launched the Tourist Fuel Pass, which is a prepaid card system.
“The pass will enable tourists to use a USD Prepaid Card to Purchase Fuel at 300+ Fuel Stations Islandwide. The card will be available at Airport Dialog & Sampath Bank Counters & can be topped up at Sampath Bank Branches,” said Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera making the announcement on Twitter last evening.
