As Sri Lanka is gearing up to celebrate its 75th Independence Day on 4 February, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) yesterday issued an uncirculated commemorative coin in the denomination of Rupees 1000.
The first 71st commemorative coin issued by the Central Bank was officially presented to President Ranil Wickremesinghe by CBSL Governor Dr. P. Nandalal Weerasinghe yesterday at the President’s House at Kandy.
A limited number of coins will be available for purchase from March 2023 which will be sold through the CBSL Sales Counters.
