Metropolitan facilitates Asian photo expert’s meeting

Teoh Peng Kee, a renowned Asian photography expert was in Colombo recently on the invitation of Metropolitan Photohub the exclusive Distributor for Canon cameras to share his vast experience and knowledge on EOS photography, during a series of workshops organized by the company.
 With more than 18 years using EOS system for Canon in South East Asia, and with more than 20 years of experience in photography he is often referred to by Asian photography community as the “Walking Dictionary for EOS”.
 His 4th visit in Sri Lanka on the invitation of Metropolitan Photohub, Teoh met with local photographers in December to share with them some techniques and tips on capturing Street and Landscape Photography as well as insights on working with EOS 5DSR and 5DS at the ‘Big Click’ event. The event attracted a vast cross section of serious photographers who gathered to listen to experts on various aspects of photography.
 “Teoh shared some practical and useful tips that helps improve the photo quality,” said Sanjaya Jayakody a serious amateur photographer who participated the ‘Big Click’ event. His teaching skills are unique since he has the ability to relate an important technique with a real life experience fashioned into an interesting story, making learning and retention both fun and easy.

So as a part our continued effort to enrich the EOS experience of professionals, we sponsored Teoh Peng’s visit which was a success,” said Suresh Herath GM for Canon cameras and accessories at Metropolitan PhotoHub.
 Some techniques and tips shared at the workshop included ‘the magic hour’, ‘choosing the correct lens’, ‘how to plan a street photography route’, ‘recommended settings’, ‘how to behave during a street confrontation’ and the importance of ‘subject 
back ground’.
In addition to Peng, renowned local wild life photographer Chitral Jayatilake and wedding photographer Harsha Madusanka also shared their experiences and their secrets for a perfect photo.
