HDFC Chief appointed CEO from January 1

State-owned Housing Development and Finance Bank PLC’s Chief Operational Officer S. Dissanayake has been appointed as the acting CEO/General Manager with effect from January 1.
Dissanayake is an Associate Member of the Chartered Accountants, and has a BSc in Management.  He joined the bank as an Assistant General Manager (Finance) in 1995, and was promoted to Deputy General Manager (Finance).
He currently holds 51,000 shares in HDFC Bank. Dissanayake is taking up duties after veteran banker Nimal J. B. Mamaduwa who relinquished his duties as CEO/General Manager on December 31, following the lapse of his contract.
