SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka marked World Children’s Day with the landmark event “Together for Children – Ambassador Signing & Partnership Summit” at the Radisson Hotel, Colombo.

The occasion officially welcomed singer Umaria Sinhawansa as a newly signed Ambassador while former Sri Lankan cricketer Roshan Mahanama for continuing his partnership with SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka.

Both Roshan and Umaria, who will serve voluntarily, bring with them strong track records in public service and in children & youth empowerment. Their role will focus on raising awareness of child rights, safeguarding, and youth empowerment while supporting fundraising efforts for children who have lost and are at risk of losing parental care.

Divakar Ratnadurai, National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka said, “This milestone reaffirms our mission of ensuring every child grows up with love, security, and respect. The renewed commitment of Roshan Mahanama, who has been a steadfast supporter for over a decade, together with the induction of Umaria Sinhawansa as a new Ambassador, strengthens our ability to reach more communities and inspire greater support for children in need.

Together with our partners, we are building a movement of collective responsibility that will create a long-term impact for children and families across Sri Lanka.”

Adding to the celebration, SOS Children’s Villages unveiled a new song dedicated to children, released on World Children’s Day. The song is performed by sisters Umaria Sinhawansa and Umara Sinhawansa, with production by SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka. The music video was premiered during the event, allowing the audience to experience its message of love, unity, and hope for every child.
