SLT-Mobitel said it is solidifying its position as a vital pillar of Sri Lanka’s progress, reaffirming its commitment to driving the nation’s digital transformation.
Once marked for divestment, SLT-Mobitel now stands revitalised—repositioned at the heart of the country’s digital transformation agenda and safeguarded by the government as a vital national asset.
“Our performance of Rs.2.1 billion PAT for 1Q25 is more than a financial milestone—it is a reaffirmation of our role as a resilient and indispensable pillar of Sri Lanka’s digital future,” said SLT-Mobitel Chairman Dr. Mothilal de Silva.
The company’s resurgence is a model of how strategic leadership, operational discipline and stakeholder alignment can deliver tangible national value. This transformation is a result of a deeply collaborative effort across its ecosystem, he added.
At its operational core are SLT-Mobitel’s employees—engineers, technicians, customer service teams and support staff—who have embraced transformation with agility and purpose. Their ability to adapt to new technologies and maintain service continuity has been instrumental in delivering consistent customer experiences.
Dr. De Silva acknowledged that the board of directors has played a pivotal role in steering the company through this transformation. With a focus on long-term sustainability, the board has championed reforms, prioritised digital infrastructure investment and ensured that the company’s growth aligns with national priorities. Their strategic oversight has enabled the group to pursue innovation while maintaining financial discipline, he noted.
SLT-Mobitel’s technology partners have also been key enablers of this success. Collaborations with global and local innovators have accelerated the deployment of AI-driven solutions, cloud platforms and next-generation connectivity. These partnerships have allowed the company to stay ahead of the curve and deliver on its promise of world-class digital services.
“This success belongs to all of us,” Dr. de Silva emphasised.
“To our employees who give their all every day, to our board whose vision guides us, to our technology partners who empower us and to our customers who believe in us—thank you. Your collective strength is what fuels SLT-Mobitel’s journey forward.”
With a strong foundation, SLT-Mobitel said it is now accelerating its investment in transformative technologies. The group is expanding its Fibre and 5G infrastructure, deploying AI-driven customer solutions and exploring new digital services to meet the evolving customer needs.
“Sri Lanka deserves nothing less than world-class connectivity,” Dr. de Silva affirmed.
“We are building a future where SLT-Mobitel stands tall—not just as a telecom provider but as a symbol of national progress.”
As the company looks ahead, its message is clear: SLT-Mobitel is not just recovering—it is redefining its future, with purpose, performance and people at the core of its journey.
