Johnny Fernando appointed ICC Sri Lanka Chairman

Johnson Anthony Fernando, popularly known as Johnny Fernando, has been elected as the Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Sri Lanka. A businessman with a reputation both locally and internationally, Fernando has served as a director of ICC Sri Lanka for nearly two decades and brings extensive senior leadership experience from the ICC’s regional network to his new role. An alumnus of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo, Fernando is a co-owner and director of a diversified group of family-owned companies. His professional expertise spans several key sectors, including engineering, construction, logistics, packaging, printing, and property development.

He currently serves as a Non-Executive Independent Director of People’s Insurance PLC and is the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Print Media Academy. His extensive board-level experience includes former directorships at People’s Leasing & Finance PLC, People’s Merchant Finance, and Alliance Leasing & Finance in Bangladesh. He is also a past president of the Sri Lanka Association of Printers.

Beyond his corporate roles, Fernando contributes his expertise to the education and healthcare sectors, serving as a consultant and governing board member for the BCI Campus, the Colombo Catholic Press, and the National Hospital of Sri Lanka.
