HNB partners with Gaia Green Energy to introduce affordable solar financing solutions

HNB PLC has signed a strategic MoU with Gaia Green Energy Holdings Pvt Ltd, a provider of solar energy systems, to promote sustainable energy adoption through affordable personal and SME loan facilities. 

This partnership enables eligible customers of Gaia Green Energy Holdings to access special financing options from HNB to purchase solar electricity generation equipment.  The initiative is designed to support Sri Lanka’s transition to renewable energy while easing the financial burden for households and small businesses. 

Under the terms of the MoU, HNB will offer personal loans and SME facilities to finance the cost of solar equipment for qualified customers. 

“We aim to empower more Sri Lankans to embrace clean energy and reduce their carbon footprint.” HNB’s Head of Retail Banking / Senior Vice President, Kanchana Karunagama noted. 

As part of the agreement, Gaia Green Energy will extend exclusive discounts on solar equipment and related products to HNB customers. The company will also actively promote HNB’s loan offerings through its offices and digital platforms, ensuring customers are well-informed about the benefits and process.
