HNB Finance PLC recently conducted the ‘Yalu Daskam’’ art workshop at Wijeyawardana Vidyalaya, Kiriwaththuduwa.

The event was organized as part of the company’s ongoing sustainability initiatives, aimed at fostering holistic development among children.

The workshop catered to Grade 4 students, providing them with an engaging platform to explore and enhance their artistic skills. Parents were also invited to attend the workshop, creating a collaborative and inspiring environment for the young participants. The initiative was fully funded by the HNB Finance Yalu Children’s Savings Account.

The HNB Finance ‘Yalu Daskam’ art workshop featured an inspiring session led by  Dayawansa Kumasaru, the former Advisor for the Arts subject at the Ministry of Education. During the workshop, Kumasaru commended the creativity and artistic expressions of the children, recognizing their talents in the presence of their parents. As a gesture of encouragement, each participant was awarded a prize and a certificate of appreciation from HNB Finance PLC.

Udara Gunasinghe, Head of Marketing at HNB Finance, commended the initiative and its positive impact. “The Yalu Daskam art workshop is one of the flagship initiatives under our sustainable projects. We believe this programme plays a pivotal role in identifying, nurturing, and encouraging the creative talents of children,” he said.
