Foreign buying continues



The ASPI closed in green as a result of price gains in counters such as Hayleys, LOLC Holdings and Browns Investments with the turnover crossing Rs. 6.5 bn. 

A similar behaviour was witnessed in the S&P SL20. High net worth and institutional investor participation was noted in LOLC Holdings, Capital Alliance Holdings Limited and Vallibel One. 

Mixed interest was observed in Sierra Cables, Digital Mobility Solutions Lanka and Commercial Bank whilst retail interest was noted in Browns Investments, UB Finance Company and LVL Energy Fund. 

Foreign participation in the market activity remained at subdued levels with foreigners closing as net buyers. Diversified Financials sector was the top contributor to the market turnover (due to LOLC Holdings and Capital Alliance Holdings Limited) whilst the sector index gained 1.02%. The share price of LOLC Holdings gained Rs. 17.50 (3.10%) to close at Rs. 582.25. 

The share price of Capital Alliance Holdings Limited recorded a gain of Rs. 0.80 (4.71%) to close at Rs. 17.80. The Banking sector was the second highest contributor to the market turnover (due to Commercial Bank) whilst the sector index edged down by 0.03%. The share price of Commercial Bank declined by Rs. 0.75 (0.39%) to close at Rs. 192.50. 

Browns Investments and Vallibel One were also included amongst the top turnover contributors. The share price of Browns Investments increased by Rs. 0.40 (5.19%) to close at Rs. 8.10. The share price of Vallibel One moved up by Rs. 3.45 (3.56%) to close at Rs. 100.25.
