Colombo to host global cybersecurity trailblazers



On May 28, Colombo will host the first-ever edition of ‘BSides Sri Lanka’ — the island nation’s flagship community-driven cybersecurity conference — at the Ramada Hotel. The event marks a significant milestone in Sri Lanka’s cyber journey, connecting local expertise to the global Security BSides movement.

Part of the globally respected Security BSides movement, the Sri Lankan chapter reflects a growing demand for inclusive, technically focused, and locally relevant cybersecurity dialogue. BSides Sri Lanka 2025 complements the region’s broader cybersecurity landscape by offering a platform where practitioners, students, and innovators can share ideas, exchange expertise, and contribute to building cyber resilience from the ground up.

This year’s agenda features a full-day program of deep-dive sessions, live technical demonstrations, and panel discussions exploring:Offensive and defensive security, techniques, application and cloud infrastructure protection, threat hunting and SOC automation and privacy, OSINT, and cybersecurity governance.

The event is designed to bridge academia and industry, encouraging emerging professionals to learn from real-world expertise while giving seasoned specialists fresh perspectives from the next generation.

From red team operators to DevSecOps engineers, and from policy advocates to penetration testers, BSides Sri Lanka 2025 is poised to attract a wide range of attendees, including Security architects and engineers, SOC analysts and threat hunters, Privacy professionals and legal experts, University students and aspiring researchers and Developers building security into the software supply chain. 

The event is expected to serve as a launch pad for emerging cybersecurity leaders while offering seasoned experts a collaborative forum to shape regional strategies.
