Cinnamon Grand Colombo became the first in the city to kick off the festive season with its annual Christmas cake mixing on Thursday evening.
The lobby came alive with the aroma of spice, fruit, and laughter. Towering piles of candied peel, cherries, and sultanas, nearly 800 kilos in total, had been chopped painstakingly over the course of a week.
With sleeves rolled up and aprons neatly tied, the hotel’s chefs joined guests in the age-old ritual of mixing the Christmas cake. Staff, invitees, and hotel guests paused for photos while enjoying glasses of wine, canapés, mini mince pies, and other treats that made their rounds. (SAA)
