I did not not know the Taliban is in charge in this country? The CID has far more important things to do. Religion is a private matter!

This is why S.L.is the 11th miserable country in the world.

Madam! Please don’t insult any religion! All religions give one message in different ways- simply advises the followers to lead a good life! Insult the followers who twist and turn religion- seeking Devine powers to heal, pass exams , go abroad etc. and then there are these jokers who charge mobile phones. All mighty cannot charge mobile phone, heal you without meds or make a total dud pass exams. I admire and appreciate all religions in this country, the teachings are very true if one has the willpower to apprehend. For those who are weak- they can go get their phones charged and then deposit their valuables in a drop box!

1st country in the world to remand comedians. Is there any law in our country to ban comedies as well under the guise of religious extremism. But fraudsters and looters continue their duties as usual without arrest

Nathasha may be wrong. But those who went berserk against the Muslims roam freely. What an idiotic law in this country.

Mind it, the same US plot playing around among innocent Sri Lankans to achieve their mission of sabotaging the country inducing religious and cultural disharmony, paving ways to help re-group the Tamil LTTE TERRORISM in Sri Lanka, whereby to begin the usual arm-sale within the LTTE

It looks that this arrest was Politically motivated ...It is well fitting to do this arrest to demonstrate that this government is doing everything to protect Buddhist and religion has been used and misused to win votes in many countries...is this a set up to win votes in coming election...Now one by one story will come up to win votes

This is WHERE the problem is, the authorities going after someone who made a stupid statement !! But killing Christians in SL is okay. Since the MASSACRE of Christians on 2019 Easter Sunday, lankans have undergone immense trouble from country having no food no water no electricity no fuel no gas no milk powder no medicine and subsequently country went BANKRUPT. The curse not gonna end, yeah Karma is a bitch.

Will the government take the same actions if this person made any remarks on any other religion we wonder.

Actions speak louder than words. Did the leader preach to enjoy super luxuries with other peoples money ?

    ROSH Monday, 29 May 2023 03:10 AM

    Freedom of expression

Easier target than Pastor Jerome who has much more money and influence and who will probably escape after greasing the correct palms. Well done, police and Magistrate

While those who bankrupt the country are free to do what they want, , this is what they do to the innocent.

Gold smugglers are receiving VIP treatment while comedians are being jailed.

When r we going to arrest the real culprits in this country

Unlike Christianity,Hinduism,Islam, or Judaism; Buddhism had no international political power Monday, 29 May 2023 07:00 AM

Buddhism was an imported religion from India. But strangely Indians don’t follow Buddhism, they are mainly Hindus. Arresting and now remanding a comedian for insulting Buddhism is not going to win you friends from India. This extreme reaction would only strengthen the already existing negative attitude specially the Western Countries have of the Sinhalese.

There is no Law and Order in Sri Lanka. A man without mandate is the Executive President. Where is the Democracy?

Roberta Flack Monday, 29 May 2023 07:26 AM

In all fairness we need to also arrest Gannsara who has insulted Islam. Mervyn Silva who has threatened and publicly humiliated people. The law cant be selective and the judiciary can’t be partial.

    MirakRajBanda Monday, 29 May 2023 07:51 AM

I’m not defending Natasha and I firmly believe that she should be severely punished for her remarks about Buddhism. Yet I'll ask the same question again and again. Why Gnanasara, Ampitiya and Warakagoda, the so called monks are free like new born for their racist, chauvinistic, rightwing, terror speeches patronage by the Rajapakses ? Even Sarath should have been behind bars long ago for his derogatory, rhetoric remarks about Hinduism, Islam and Christianity!!! Law of jungle of a failed fourth world country!!!!

    DW Monday, 29 May 2023 08:25 AM

Why can't anyone make remarks about Buddhism? Even Buddha said not to agree with everything he said. Exact words were, "Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”

Why comment of another faith, compelling your vision on someone is not acceptable. Religion is the opium of the masses.Honour killings still taking place in many societies, do not interfere one's faith or speech.

    Jayantha Monday, 29 May 2023 09:16 AM

Dilith J should be arrested yoo on same matter. Also wada kottu gang including pachaeansha and athana methana guy should be arrested.

    Ranjith Monday, 29 May 2023 10:04 AM

What a shameful thing to do insult another religion, atleast respect your religion and be a devoted Christian then you will never insult other religions or have hatred toward followers of other religions you shown your frustration

    Man Monday, 29 May 2023 11:00 AM

There is freedom of speech in Sri Lanka as said as an independent country. So, nothing wrong. But, can't run away without having a public debate on their declerations like Panadura wadaya. Come on.

Quo vadis Monday, 29 May 2023 12:43 PM

If comedians are being jailed, then what about Sajith the king of comedy.

    Ranjith Monday, 29 May 2023 12:57 PM

Freedom of speech to insult religion's? what will happen if Buddhist and Muslim start joking about Jesus, freedom of speech is not to insult religion's
