The Foreign Affairs Ministry is to seek a diplomatic solution between the two countries regarding the Chinese ship which freighted organic fertilizer to Sri Lanka in 2021, at diplomatic level and the payment of US$ 6.7 million made by the Sri Lankan government.
The decision was announced by the Foreign Affairs Minister Ali Sabri during a discussion at the Agriculture Ministry yesterday.
Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera, requested the President during a cabinet meeting held earlier to extend the support of the Foreign Affairs Minister to find a solution to this issue in a way that does not damage the long-term friendly ties between Sri Lanka and the Chinese governments with regards to the shipload of Chinese organic manure.
The Foreign Minister also appointed a special official to mitigate the crisis situation related to the fertilizer. He also told that the Agriculture Ministry officials would extend all the necessary support to that official.
Minister Amaraweera also emphasized that all possible measures should be taken to prevent this kind of situation from happening in the future. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

To prevent things like this from happening again, simply stop trading with Chinese companies. It was a big mistake to pay the Chinese for their contaminated fertilizer. But this mistake was probably intentional by the crooked Sri Lankan ministers, since the bribe was only paid after the payment was made. And there are no long-term friendly ties between the two countries. It certainly cannot be called friendly that China uses blackmail in its business dealings with poorer countries. It is only possible, because of the selfish and corrupt politicians, that deals are still being made with China, which are always to the detriment of Sri Lanka. Debt trap, too high interest on loans, obligation to buy all needed materials and machines from China, jobs only for Chinese workers. In addition, China only delivers poor quality that cannot even be sold in its own country. Sri Lanka has become China's garbage dump.

(Part I) All this 'Rot', in SL-PRC (Peoples Republic of China) started after the 'RORT' perpetrated by so called 'Messiah' demanding metaphorical "Slice of his pound of Flesh" – 20% “service fee’ after signing the contract for the Chinese loan for ‘Hamban Port’!!! NOT BEFORE!! we had BMICH and other projects, which were grants and SOFT LOANS, LOW INTEREST AND GRACE PERIODS though Chinese labour was used as there was no expenditure for SL labour component!!! We need to investigate and get to the ‘ROOT’ problem of this ‘RORT’, which has caused Chinese to ‘MILK SRILANKAN ECOOMY’ as compensation!!I (TBC)

You aren’t worthy of gaining their trust, which you have proved beyond all measure by your misdeeds political and financial ‘rorting without compare’!!!?? AMEN!!! See how many officials are there at this meeting? Time wasters. How many of them have the necessary skills to manage issues of this nature? Most of them are useless 9am to 4:30pm officials who are only interested in going home by 4:30pm. No brains. Are these the people whom the government intend sending abroad for employment?
