Former Economic Development minister Basil Rajapaksa, was arrested by the Financial Crime Investigation Division (FCID) a short while ago.
The former minister was at the FCID this morning to give a statement over misappropriating funds of the Divi Neguma Development Department.

Charging and convicting are different things, you can't keep the suspect always in remand unless a vlaid reason can be provided. mostly in the murder cases suspect are kept for a long period.

Don't you know the law of the land. you can't keep them in the jail forever for all the cases. If the suspect has valid reason Magistrate has to give the bail. Just because you didn't see this during the previous government, it doesn't mean it is wrong. go learn some law
