The Australian Government is to gift a former Royal Australian Air Force Beechcraft KA350 aircraft to Sri Lanka, the Australian High Commission in Colombo said.

Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Paul Stephens who met President Ranil Wickremesinghe handed over a letter from Australia’s Minister for Home Affairs
Clare O'Neil formally offering Sri Lanka the gift of the Beechcraft KA350 aircraft.

"This gift will strengthen Sri Lanka’s ability to protect its maritime security. It is a further demonstration of our close collaboration in combatting transnational crime", the High Commissioner said.

It is a disgrace to accept this as a gift. The Australians are giving this plane to be used by the Sri Lankan Air Force to stop Sri Lankans attempting to travel by sea to Australia. They are intelligently fooling the Sri Lankans to function to serve the Australian interests.

Why on earth should one attempt to travel to Australia in a boat? They accept migrants who are qualified. Nobody would tolerate discards. And mind you don’t play the war sympathy card anymore. Yes they should use all means and stop these boat people!

So what is wrong with stopping boats? Why do SLankans want to go to Australia illegally? Isnt SL a paradise? Even after going there they still keep their ethnic, religious and other stupid habits and start querelling among themselves rather than assimilating to the country. Australia does not need them.

Just why is it a disgrace to accept this aircraft as a gift? The SLAF already has 2 Beechcraft King Air aircraft. They are being used primarily as Maritime Surveillance platforms. So what's the problem in getting a more modern model to augment the fleet.

@Dee,@FairJudge,@Hawkeye::::: Sri Lankans are generally speaking intelligent people, so this three unbelievable idiots must be representations of just a one idiotic brain. Who is saying let the Sri Lankans flee illegally to Australia ? When the Australians characterise giving this air craft as “a gift” strengthening the relationship between the two countries then that is a damn lie, what they want is “use this air craft and protect our Australian territorial waters by conducting air patrols thousands of miles away closer to your country”. If you are still not convinced , then ask your self why Australia has never given any other much needed “gifts” other than not so needy “deep sea patrolling assets”. Clearly they want Sri Lanka to work for their own Australian interests that is why accepting this as a “gift” is a DISGRACE to Sri Lanka.

Somettime ago when Tony Abbott was Prime Minister Australia on a request also provided some speed boats to the Sri Lanka Navy to stop Sri Lankan asylum seekers entering the country illegally.The Royal Australian Beechcraft is another example of Ausralian Governments commitment to stop the influx of boat people from Sri Lanka seeking greener pastures in Australia..

The cost to fly the aircraft is prohibitive. But fortunately in our ancient books there is the recipe to develop bio aviation fuel from human pee so we should be able to fuel and fly this aircraft
