Two arrested with forged foreign currency



Two foreigners were arrested on June 7 for possessing forged Indian currency worth Rs.899,000, following a tip off to the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID), police said.

The suspects were arrested in front of a hotel in Bambalapitiya. One suspect had stayed for two years in Sri Lanka possessing a British Resident Visa with a British passport while the other suspect was a deportee who lived in Switzerland without a visa.

Both suspects are being questioned under detention order.
