Actress and former MP Upeksha Swarnamalee (Paba) and veteran artiste Bandula Wijeweera have been summoned to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC) today.

PRECIFAC desires to record their statements with regard to the investigations it is carrying out into a complaint about fraud and corruption at SriLankan Airlines

A senior official of the commission said PRECIFAC had received a complaint that funds had been obtained from SriLankan Airlines for Mahinda Rajapaksa’s electioneering at the last presidential election. (Manopriya Gunasekara)

At this rate, being called for these inquiries will be the most fashionable thing in town and people will be eagerly waiting for them to be called.... and if not called it will be highly embarrassing for them.....It will be time most of these fashion photographers will start covering people visiting these places. Whether we like to admit or not the past regime WAS corrupt to the core, in many many ways. So corrupt that the judicial process is bogged down on the mud of corruption.
