Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya has given instructions to all electronic media institutions to refrain from repeat telecasting the special message of President Maithripala Sirisena.

The UPFA had complained that due to the many repeat telecasts of this special message (of last Tuesday) over the state's TV channels, the UPFA and its candidates were facing a grave injustice. Consequently the Commissioner of Elections had issued the above instructions.

The Elections Secretariat had further stated that, during the run up to the elections, it was illegal to promote any candidate or political party by repeatedly telecasting or broadcasting any speeches or statements detrimental to another party. (Ranjan Kasthuri)

Speaches of all political parties should concentrate only on what will be done for the country and the people of Sri Lanka and its future and not tarnishing rivals by personal comments and rebuke.If people have to be born as dogs and crows,that is for God to decide according a persons Karma.By pointing one finger at someone,remember four fingers are pointing at self.Yes,for rogues and corrupt people,the law of the country will take care of them and its not for each and every one in oppositions to condemn.If one has not sinned,only then has one got a right to throw the first stone.Has Sri Lanka got any blemish free politician?

Timing of the speech of Judas was to derail the election campaign of the SLFP / UPFA and cause confusion within the ranks of the supporters.
