Discussions were held between Sri Lanka and Poland on transferring technology, training and intelligence sharing which would benefit both countries, the Sri Lankan government said.

The discussion was held between visiting Sri Lankan Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Polish Minister of National Defense Tomasz Siemoniak in Warsaw, Poland, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Poland said in a statement.

Mr. Rajapaksa had visited Poland at the invitation of the Minister of National Defense Tomasz Siemoniak to attend the 20th International Defense Industry Exhibition (MPSO) held in Kielce from 3rd - 6th September. The exhibition was inaugurated by President of Poland Boruslaw Komorowski on 3rd of September amidst a large gathering of invitees who had dealings with the defence industry worldwide.

During his visit Defense Secretary Rajapaksa had a number of meetings with key personnel of the Polish Government as well as the defence industry who were attending the event. He also had an opportunity of meeting informally with President Komorowski as well as the Minister of Foreign Affairs Radoslav Sikorski during the lunch hosted for the invitees by the President of the exhibition Andrzej Mochon.

While speaking with the Secretary, Minister Sikorski inquired whether the LTTE had been completely wiped out in Sri Lanka.  Secretary Rajapaksa gave him a brief account of the defeat of the LTTE and the present situation.

Regarding the LITE the "present situation" is that they are again getting funding. TESO (Tamil Eelam Supporters Org) has been resurrected and the Sri Lankan Tamil parties are using a Palestinian type of mentality by referring to all Tamil dominated areas in Sri Lanka as "Tamil Homelands" setting the stage for a revival of Eelam. Wonder what intelligence including the transfer of military technology to Sri Lanka would help remedy this growing problem.

Poland has best illegal computer hacking technology. Perhaps government can have access to that technology and use it.

What kind of intelligence do they need from Sri Lanka ?
If it is for counter-terrorism measures, probably this can be an misunderstanding duue to an error in translation from Polish to English.
Looking at chronicles and statistics Poland seems to be free of terrorism. For decades
there has not been any terrorist attack committed on the territory of Poland or against Polish
    citizens abroad.

We already have plenty of connections with Israel. But our politicians keep a low profile on the outside when it comes to Israel.
