The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) said yesterday that the 200 million rupees allocated for the reconstruction of the destroyed properties in Aluthgama were not adequate even for the plastering of the destroyed buildings.SLMC General Secretary Hasan Ali said the government would eventually say that the Muslims had attacked themselves and they themselves had burnt their houses.
“This is our country. Therefore we won’t leave it for another, or ask others for help,” he said.
Mr. Ali said the executive committee of the Party would meet next week to discuss how to be prepared and how to face incidents like the one that occurred in Aluthgama. (Indika Sri Aravinda)
