Rajarata lecturers to withdraw from duties
Lecturers of the Rajarata University have decided to withdraw from all educational and administrative activitises from tomorrow until their safety is ensured.Rajarata University Teachers Association Secretary Prof. Ven Olaganwatte Chandrasiri Thera said lecturers have decided to withdraw from all educational and administrative services in protest over the recent events which occurred within the university.
The university is scheduled to reopen on Monday.
The university was temporarily closed after the Vice Chancellor and several lecturers were held hostage overnight by a group of students last week.(Mahesh Keerthirathna)
