Two police officers and a civil defense force personal have been suspended over the Inginiyagala incident while the Officer in Charge of the Inginiyagala police has also been transferred to Ampara, police spokesman SP Preshantha Jayakody told Daily Mirror online.

The suspension and transfer took place following a tense situation which arose in the area after a suspect who created a commotion in a temple escaped from police custody and was later found dead near a lakeside in the area the next day. (GS)

Law in this country is interpreted in different ways for different people. One thing to honest officers, (they are treated as rouges) quite contrary to the dishonest and nasty officers who are loyal to the Ruling Party (they are treated as honest and efficient & rewarded too) ( Not to the Government)

Suspensions and transfers are for hoodwinking the public. The respective policemen have clearly failed in their duties to the State and the citizens of this country to protect the life of a suspect while in custody. Since a death has occured, this case has to be treated as a murder / crime and the respective officers arrested and remanded for the same.

Transfers and suspensions have become cheaper than lollipops. I say bring sharia law. eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, death penalty for rape, murder, drugs smuggling and all social crimes. no matter who it is police, military or politicians mercy should be shown for the criminals.

The police Officers must be arrested FIRST and then they have to prove that they are NOT GUILTY, as in the case with SF's arrest.
