All these students are over 18 years of age, hence they are adults. JVP or no JVP they shoud be held responsible.

I salute the Colombo Magistrate for this. This is criminal activity perpetrated by the JVP activists it appears. This should be a good lesson for all university students. Don't be pawns in the hands of the JVP !!!

    Ranjit Friday, 29 October 2010 08:13 AM

Why didn't the authorities arrest Wimal when he protested in front of UN office? Why Mervyn was not arrested when he tied a GN to a tree in public? The culprit in this case is SB who is trying to get benefited by opening private universities. If the government improves the standards of our universities most of these problems will be solved.

    polkiccha Friday, 29 October 2010 07:21 AM

they are playing in to the hands of SB

JVP don't destroy the future of this students for your political survival

Shantha Perera Friday, 29 October 2010 06:33 AM

government has to put those who are responsible for motivating students behind bars for the life time. this is very unfortunate that JVP is using these poor studnets for cheap political advantages and destroy the education system in sri lanka

Jumbuli Jumba Friday, 29 October 2010 06:27 AM

    Ranjith Friday, 29 October 2010 06:06 AM

Sorry for our sons as this is our future, but the law has to take its route. Have the courage to go though this bad period and allow dust to settle, son. Now Its better to explain to your friends that any more agitations will multiply your detension and things will become worse.

    M.H. Mohd Friday, 29 October 2010 06:05 AM

Really Great!!! there will be no bail who damage the ministry property....as its my (public) money & the student should pay the damage property cost as well...

    Ruwan Friday, 29 October 2010 06:05 AM

    Rajitha Friday, 29 October 2010 05:58 AM

    Are they underprivileged underdogs ?

Dave Rich Friday, 29 October 2010 05:50 AM

Its very clear that the story will go on until the entire university system is closed. I remember the mid 80s. JVP played exactly for the tune of the government and we were stranded at home for 3 years. It may not sound nice; but send your son/daughter to a foreign uni if you can afford. Sooner the better.

knight Rider Friday, 29 October 2010 05:45 AM

Give them the education and lectures they missed and need very much while in remand some good lessons they will remember for the rest of their lives.
