Major arrested over club incident

An Army Major has been arrested and remanded over an incident at a club in Bambalapitiya where he had brandished his weapon, threatened the staff and damaged property worth over Rs. 5 lacks.
The Major, identified as Ranjith Kumara, was arrested by the military police and produced before the Mount Lavinia additional Magistrate today. He was remanded till March 10 and the police said they are on the lookout for two others in connection with the incident.

This is disgusting. Man is innocent until proven guilty. If found guilty he should get the haviest penalty which could be imposed in the land. These people take the uniform and the title for granted. I would like to know what sort of education he has had and where?

Did Military Police check this man's credentials (references etc) before joining the army as a an officer cadet? Did military police check this man's character before joining the army?? If not there may be many more officers out there in the Army with similar character !!! BE AWARE of them!!!!!!
