A Sri Lankan national, who had secured an Indian passport fraudulently after marrying a Bidar native, was arrested by the immigration authorities when she landed at the Bengaluru International Airport, India on Tuesday.
Katyayani (25), who flew in from Colombo with her husband, Devi Prasad, was remanded in judicial custody.
The police said Ms. Katyayani had come to Bangalore in 2006 on a student visa. But she overstayed and started working in a private firm. Meanwhile, she befriended Mr. Devi Prasad working in Bangalore and they got married in a temple. “Though their marriage has not been registered, she, with the help of a tout, secured a passport from the Regional Passport Office, Bangalore. When the couple returned to Bangalore on October 21, the authorities, on the alert about illegal immigrants, got suspicious.
Upon frisking them, officials found a Sri Lankan ID card on Ms. Katyayani, the airport police station sources said, adding that the couple confessed during interrogation. (Source: The Hindu)

Old (bad) habit die hard.
No worries. It is equally easy to buy your way out!!!
