Today is the saddest day of our life as our good friend, mentor and the sweetest person ever ready to help anyone at all; breathed his last this morning. Kirthi is a one of a kind "gentleman" who would never talk ill of others. Unfortunately the last few months were not so great for him and not being there by his side was the worst feeling one could have. I first met Kirthi at the Lanka Oberoi when we used to invite him for so many functions and it was always a pleasure to be in his company. The lovely "hakuru mas" which he used to treat me with was excellent all the time as he did it with love. Most often, my birthday was celebrated in his home with just my hubby and kid, his nephew Ravi and wife Roshana, Niroshan and Prasad. It is sad that he has left us "too early". This year during the Sinhalese and Tamil new year Kirthi was at Durdans and we were there at the dawn of the new year with him enjoying the oil cakes and other sweet meats. (continued in next email)
