DPL - if justice D S C Lekamvasam was all that good should he have not stood his ground in the case and given the verdict in favor of the General rather than running scared?

    Saturday, 20 March 2010 04:58 AM

When Jeses crusified the judge did the samething.

    Saturday, 20 March 2010 04:49 AM

    Saturday, 20 March 2010 04:22 AM

Glad to see lawyers of this calibre - probably he was terrorised into making a wrong judgement, which his conscience forbad him to do. WELL DONE.

    Saturday, 20 March 2010 04:09 AM

This shows that our judiciary is independent .

    Saturday, 20 March 2010 02:40 AM

Still we have honest, sincere judges in Sri Lanka..

    Saturday, 20 March 2010 01:58 AM

The Judge must have been urged to reject the appeal , so he quit to uphold his conscience.

    Saturday, 20 March 2010 01:14 AM

    Conscience?

    Saturday, 20 March 2010 01:04 AM

justice D S C Lekamvasam is a relative of SF/Tillakaratne families. His honesty shows that he abstained for sitting this hearing as he has known relation to complained party.

    Saturday, 20 March 2010 12:41 AM

We have to admire him for his firm commitment to professional ethics.

    Saturday, 20 March 2010 12:12 AM

Did some Politico try to influence him? Well done Judge!

    Friday, 19 March 2010 11:17 PM

It would have been better if the members of the panel of judges selected and agreed before the sitting so that there was no need to postpone the hearing for another date.

    Friday, 19 March 2010 09:39 PM

    We salute you sir !

    Friday, 19 March 2010 08:11 PM

A man who knows the law and has a heart.

    Friday, 19 March 2010 06:47 PM

    Judge with a conscience!

    Friday, 19 March 2010 05:13 PM

This clearly indicates some hidden issue ...

    Friday, 19 March 2010 10:59 AM

Personal reasons? Is the honourable judge related to any one the parties in the case?

    Friday, 19 March 2010 04:36 PM

The justice D S C Lekamvasam is a very good example for other judges, the person of high level honesty and intergrity. not above the LAW.. The president of the country until his term of president HE should not summon to courts.but he is not above the LAW.

    Friday, 19 March 2010 04:25 PM

The good educated , honerable, honest, intregrity, JUDGES will never do anything against the LAW.

    Friday, 19 March 2010 03:33 PM

under threat to give a verdict of their choice

    Friday, 19 March 2010 02:36 PM

Well done D.S.C.Lekamvasam . It shows there are still some left who won't bend to political pressure

    Friday, 19 March 2010 02:07 PM

Yes He knows what is the truth and may be He can not act against the truth. if he acts for the truth he may be taken away from a white van. best thing is to call sick.

    Friday, 19 March 2010 01:59 PM

great to see a judge that follows his concsience

    Friday, 19 March 2010 12:45 PM

What is going on in Sri Lanka Judiciary?

    Friday, 19 March 2010 12:36 PM

    Friday, 19 March 2010 12:31 PM

    declined 4 the obvious reason

    Friday, 19 March 2010 12:16 PM

Great, Our salute to Mr Lekamvasam

    Friday, 19 March 2010 12:13 PM

is it some kind of partiality or loyalty of the judiciary ? I don't think so yet..... Respected your honor , make my doubt clear..

    Friday, 19 March 2010 11:34 AM

What's up? Any idea? Was there any interference?

    Friday, 19 March 2010 11:32 AM

I THINK THE HONBLE COURT IS DRAGGING THEIR FEET TILL THE ELECTIONS ARE OVER !!!

    Friday, 19 March 2010 11:30 AM

On the 17th the military court adjourned without any hearings. Now this. It gets " curiouser & curiouser "

    Friday, 19 March 2010 11:20 AM

The learned judge either would have been under threat or would have wanted to avoid involvement in a judgement that could be a threat to his life and family.
