If my children want Lamborghinis I’ll buy them some:Mervyn

15 November 2012 10:43 pm - 129     - {{hitsCtrl.values.hits}}

Minister Mervyn Silva said that if his children wanted Lamborghinis, he would buy them some.

“Some are holding on to Lamborghinis and voicing their protest. If my children take up motor racing I would also buy them Lamborghinis and I, too, would use one,” he said, commenting on the reduction of the duty on racing cars in the Budget.

Speaking at a tree planting ceremony in Kiribathgoda yesterday, the minister compared President Mahinda Rajapaksa to Abraham Lincoln, Lenin, Karl Marx, Gandhi, and Mao Zedong. He said he was a leader who had sparked a renaissance, and whom the country needed as its leader. (Lal S. Kumara, Kelaniya)

    I am so sad to hear for what Mervin has said. I think he has not heard (dont know whether he can read as his literacy is puzling to all of us) the budjet speech.
    Prizes of "Go carts" only exemted from tax. Not the racing cars or Lamboginis.I think he thinks Lambogini is the worlds best car.No. There are better cars than Lambogini.
