Sri Lanka’s Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakse who is in India to attend a defence exhibition is currently meeting several Indian officials and is likely to meet both the External Affairs Minister and the Foreign Secretary of India later today, an official at the Sri Lankan Embassy in New Delhi told Daily Mirror Online a short while ago.

Mr. Rajapakse was attending the DEFEXPO INDIA 2010 exhibition, India’s largest annual defence exhibition and is scheduled to return home tomorrow after meeting with the Indian officials. However the purpose of the discussion has not been made public.

Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to New Delhi Prasad Kariyawasam is also accompanying Mr. Rajapakse at the meeting with the Indian officials, the official at the High Commission said.

The Indian media had earlier this week quoted Mr. Rajapakse as stating that he was in India on a five day visit and would go to Bodh Gaya, but had also had decided to drop in at DEFEXPO to see the biggest military equipment shown in South Asia.
