The main opposition UNP today alleged that fuel prices are to be increased once again in the coming weeks.

Party Spokesman and Member of Parliament Gayantha Karunathilaka told a news conference today that the decision to allow Lanka India Oil Company (LIOC) and the repeated statements made by the subject Minister Susil Premajayantha that the CPC is running at a loss are clear indications of a price hike in the future. Crude oil Price is US$104.63 in the world market. UNP will do anything to score a political point or two. Yes, they do hit below the belt!

For your information it has come down to US$94 per barrel. Only the north sea oil is above US$100. Anyway we dont buy oil from North sea. So know your facts befor commenting.

FYI. Now we are receiving more than 2-3 months back borrowed oil. We have to pay at that time price. Not at present price.

If the world market prices going up , what can the CPC do. They have to increase the prices. UNP don't understand small theory.

UNP is happy because they want people to suffer. If UNP do not want to see people suffering, pay feul increase through connections you leader has with the developed countries.
