Excise officer nabbed while soliciting bribe

The Northern Province Assistant Excise Commissioner was arrested by the Bribery Commission officials today while soliciting a bribe of Rs.120,000 to renew the license of a foreign liquor shop.

The Commission said the arrested would be produced before the Jaffna Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
