About 40 Sri Lankan Tamil asylum seekers, who were deported from Britain, arrived here this morning, police said.
A senior police officer confirmed that currently statements were being recorded from them by a special team from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID). “We were just recording statements from them, once the procedure is over we will allow them to go soon,” the official said. (SD)

I not sure we want to welcome them. While in Uk they would have blamed all Sinhalease and the Government. Had they succeeded with asylum application, they would have travelled to Sri Lanka with thier UK Passports. These are vile people who should be punished for ruining the name of Sri Lanka. Neverthless, they are Sri Lankan. Wtach them let them integrate back into society but do restrict their international movement.

Isn't life better in Sri Lanka than living in UK doing odd jobs? Even if you have a better education, unless you go through a proper channel, you have to do 3-4 odd jobs to survive in UK.

Bad news for human sumugglers, other EU countries will follow this example.
Thank you UK for endorsing peace and safty in Sri Lanka!...yes milliband n his goons will lose votes, but UK need to address her refugee issues with high priority.
