Brothel raided in Nugegoda

Seven women, including the manager of a brothel which had been operating as an Ayurvedic medical centre at Kandawaththa Road, Nugegoda were arrested by the Mirihana Police last night, Police said.

The women, aged between 23 to 49, were from Maharagama, Pitakotte, Dodangahayaya, Homagama, and Colombo and they would be produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate today, Police said.

The Mirihana Police are conducting further investigations.

Those Casino's are legal , This brothel was illegal. That the reason Mirihana Police raided this place so the legal ones get more income. Bodu Bala why No comments. Killing Cows hurt them but what about Brothel houses. Please show the Photo's of those girls.

Middle East Jobs are getting low. These mothers and sisters have to eat and feed their families. Govt. should provide them with jobs or pay them a dole.

The war on prostitution is a pointless exercise. It has existed since ancient times and will continue for centuries to come.
The answer is to decriminalise the activity, allow the women to operatein brothels and grant them protection under the law just like any other citizen. The law as it stands just encourages the criminal activitythat surrounds the trade as well as exploitation by police authorities. WE have heard of tales of the women giving a "freebie" in return for not being arrested. Why can't we have legalised brothels situated away from residential areas. Ask casino boss Packer.
