Body of teenager found near Kokkuvil

A body of a young man lying by the railway line at Kokkuvil was recovered by the police this morning, police said.

They said according to a resident of the area the deceased identified as Rajeswaran Senduran (18) from Kopay North was a student of Kokkuvil Hindu College in Jaffna. They said the young man would have committed suicide and that a letter lying near the body contained a request to rehabilitate and release all Tamil political prisoners.

However Kopay police said they were probing the incident but had not received any information about such a letter written by him.(Romesh Madusanka)
