A Bollywod thriller on SL war to be released in Aug

'Madras Cafe' - a Bollywood spy thriller based on the civil war that ravaged Northern Sri Lanka is set to be released on August 23.

The movie, directed by Shoojit Sircar and produced by John Abraham recreates the infamous civil war in Sri Lanka, where Abraham portrays the role of a RAW agent on a covert mission in Jaffna, backed by Indian forces. Also starring is Nargis Fakhri, who plays the role of an international journalist. Sri Lankan beauty queen turned Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez is also said to play a lead role in the movie.

The film had been earlier titled Jaffna and is said to touch upon some sensitive issues. It had been shot in Sri Lanka as well as in Malaysia, Thailand and the South Indian city of Chennai. (PTI/IndiaWest)

This is hilarious... we haven't even seen the movie yet... but look at the comments of all these pundits... what's wrong in producing a movie about the war... as you can see even Jacqueline is also playing a lead role... don't try to be smart by expressing your foolishness... this is a free world... look at the number of movies produced about the wars done by USA... no one goes against them... in fact they dnt even care about them... we should stop this tomfoolery and behave like sensible people...

Bollywood is not exactly the most objective source of material. Her movies contain about 13 song and dance sequences and the same old love story. I believe "madras Cafe" by it's title alone is favoring the Tamils. How about "The Sri Lankan war" or something that pertains to Sri Lanka. Why is Madras even part of the name of the movie? I can see it now, actresses running around trees singing shrilly while RAW agents chase them in some love scene with the background of Tamil Tigers blowing up the Dalada Maligawa. A good name would be "Splitting the teardrop"
