A 35-year old woman from Moratuwa, who was run over by a lorry at a pedestrian crossing at Katukurunda in Moratuwa last night, had been tested positive with Covid-19.
Police said the woman was initially admitted to the Panadura Base Hospital.
However, she was then transferred to the National Hospital in Colombo (NHC). The health authorities conducted a PCR test before she was transferred to the NHC.
Police said the woman had succumbed to her injuries this morning.
The police arrested the driver of the lorry over the fatal accident. (Rekha Tharangani)

This is why we need wrestling savvy traffic cops like that last one who body slammed and jumped on the truck driver. Every road If there was a police post with a small wrestling ring build to its side, the speed warning signs can be removed permanently. Lives are saved !!
