Wild elephant trapped in a lake
A wild elephant with severe injuries is trapped in a lake at Allewewa, Dimbulagala for several days.
Residents in the area said water from the lake was used for day to day activities and if the elephant as to die in the lake they would not be able to use the water.
Weheragala Wild Life Department officials said the elephant would be relocated to the Maduruoya forest reserve after its injuries are treated.
