Water level of Gin Ganga rising: Possible floods in Galle

Galle district is facing a fresh flood threat as several areas in the district had received a rainfall more than 200mm, Department of Meteorology said. 

The water level of Gin Ganga was rising to a flood level due to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the water level of Kalu Ganga which was rising on Saturday had begun to reduce as of this morning.

Rainfall of nearly 100mm has been recorded in Mannar and Gampaha District as well. 

The Department of Metrology forecasted rains exceeding 100 mm during the coming days in Western, Sabaragamuwa, North and Galle and Matara districts.
