Viyaskanth debuts in IPL with Sunrisers

IPL 2024, SRH vs LSG: Vijayakanth Viyaskanth set for IPL 2024 debut,  Quinton de Kock returns - India TodayLeg-spinner Viyaskanth Vijayakanth was handed his Indian Premier League debut today after he was named in the Sunrisers Hyderabad playing XI against the Lucknow Super Giants. 

Vijayakanth was drafted into the Sunrisers squad after Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga was ruled out of the tournament due to injury.

    He bowled well today. Many senior bowlers have been expensive in this IPL. If he learn and adopt the different conditions fast, he can be successful.

    Excellent news and so glad for this young man from the Northern Province Its also a slap in in the wrist for the Sri Lanka Cricket selectors who didn't want to select him for the up coming T20 WC and wanted to keep others who do not perform ,why they did that is a good question and hope its not due to his ethnicity!

    R. Navaratnam - Civil war and presence of Army in N/E provinces were the cause for sports not developing there for the last two decades or so. Now it is peace time and most leading schools in N/E are functioning normally and there will be youngsters like "Ethir"(Asian Hi Jump record holder) will bring fame to N/E in the near future, sans southern political influence.
