Two construction site workers in Slave Island found positive with new Delta variant
Two construction workers attached to a building site in Slave Island were happened to be close associates of the person who was found infected first with Delta varient of COVID-19 are suspected to have been infected with the same variant, Chief Medical officer Colombo Municipal Council ( CMC) Dr. Ruwan Wijayamuni said today.
Dr.Wijayamuni told the Daily Mirror that these two workers have already been tested and the results are due soon. "We could confirm that these two persons are infected with the same variant, only once the results come," he said.
He said the two workers were found to be COVID positive.
"We have ordered all the workers in the construction site to be isolated," he said.(Yohan Perera)
