Colombo, Feb. 6 (Daily Mirror) - Conducting tuition classes targeting candidates sitting for the 2025 (2026) G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination will be prohibited from midnight on February 11, the Department of Examinations announced.
The Department stated that organising and conducting subject-oriented lectures, seminars, workshops, or classes related to the examination period will not be permitted. The printing of examination-oriented papers, distribution of so-called “guess questions,” and publicity through electronic media, posters, and banners will also be banned.
Arrangements have been finalised to hold the 2025 G.C.E. O/L Examination from February 17 to February 26, 2026, at 3,545 examination centres islandwide.
The Department further said that printing and distributing question papers containing “guess questions,” as well as publishing or circulating examination questions or similar materials via print or electronic media, posters, banners, or handouts, are strictly prohibited. Possession of such materials during the banned period is also not allowed.
According to the Department, any individual, institution, or party violating these regulations will be considered to have committed an offence under the Public Examinations Act and will be subject to legal action.
