Torrential rain causes flooding in Ratnapura

Colombo, Nov. 6 (Daily Mirror) - Low-lying areas in Ratnapura, Kuruvita, Elapatha, and Kiriella have been inundated this afternoon following more than 12 hours of torrential rain.

According to a senior official from the Disaster Management Centre (DMC), paddy fields in the Maha season were the worst affected. Flooding has also disrupted transport on several roads and submerged gem mines in the region.
