State Minister Shehan Semasinghe said that the timely support Sri Lanka received from India should always be appreciated as the main focus of the government now is stabilizing the economy.
He said this while participating in the discussion on the "Use of National Currencies for Economic Transactions between India and Sri Lanka, Towards a Stronger Bilateral Economic Partnership and Shared Prosperity", held yesterday in Colombo.
The State Minister briefly explained how Sri Lanka has come to a visible change in the economy while taking many difficult decisions.
"People are suffering, but it will surely make them achieve a strongest economic recovery soon", he said.
Adding to that, State Minister said that as s longstanding friend, the support for Sri Lanka in providing the needed Financial Assurance for the IMF programme, along with the credit lines, India's timely intervention in supporting in the challenging situations is always appreciated.
State Minister explained how Sri Lanka benefitted from the trade agreements and bilateral discussions and how they will further support Sri Lanka.

When will we get more support is another way of putting things. Excellent rhetoric from government to keep the pressure on India to provide more. They think they can give credit line loan look like hero and then wash hands. No, they will be up for more and more. India bought a lot of problems by forcing in 13A now India must be pay for it's forcing it in for decades to come.

What is a meaningless comment. Is the current economic problem a fallout of 13A? This mismanagement is due to Sri Lankan leaders mismanaging the economy.
