A 39-year-old three-wheeler driver, who was stopped at a Police road block at Lunawa, Moratuwa, has been shot dead by police following an altercation, police said.
Accordingly, when the policemen at the road block had attempted to search the three-wheeler, the driver had behaved in a violent manner, obstructing the policemen duty to search the vehicle.
When the driver had tried to assault a policeman and had hurled stones at the direction of the policemen, the police officers on duty had to opened fire seriously injuring the driver. Later the injured driver succumbed to his injuries while being admitted to the Kalubowila hospital.

So you mean to say that the three-wheeler driver had been carrying stones for self-defense? What nonsense is this? The other side of the story is that the cops were under the influence of liquor and the police still haven't checked on that fearing the TRUTH. Coming colours after August 5th are NOT GOOD.
